CBM has celebrated 15 years of its existence on 15th of September at the Hotel Palace in Mitrovica, and they have teamed up with the Rock School for this event. Before getting into it, here is what you need to know about this organization:
Community Building Mitrovica (CBM) is a local non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in the field of peace and community building in the wider region of Mitrovica in northern Kosovo. The overall aim of CBM is to facilitate contact and dialogue between citizens in the whole of Mitrovica municipality. CBMs staff consists of devoted citizens – both Serbs and Albanians – who grew up in this region and want to restore the previous confidence and even friendship that war and politics have destroyed.” – taken from the official website of CBM. You can visit their website here: cbmitrovica.org
Our students – Dren, Jelena, Baton and Qendrim – have prepared a set list of songs that they would perform acoustically and have arrived at Hotel Palace for the sound check. When all the guests arrived later, the event started with a speech.
After the speeches, Jelena, Baton and Dren started the performance with a few songs from Sublime 6, and continued with some popular covers.
After singing seven songs, Jelena welcomed Qendrim to the stage so he could perform his set list of covers that varied from Guns ‘n’ Roses to Bob Marley, and Dren also had his own singing parts where he showed his singing abilities.
Congratulations to CBM on their amazing progress, and also to our students on their great performance!
